HIDDEN DESIRES

Shades of smoke and laughter lost,

You weave facades, a cunning ghost.

No mask of mirth, nor jeweled dress,

Can veil the truth you keep suppressed.

Your smile, a moonlit, silvered lie,

Reflects a heart where secrets lie.

Each spoken word, a gilded thread,

In webs of doubt expertly spread.

You walk the stage, a player bold,

Where shadows dance and stories unfold.

But hidden motives, whispers low,

Leaving intentions in perpetual flow.

Are you the muse, the siren's call,

Or merely echo to another's thrall?

Your gaze, a mirror, dark and deep,

Reflects desires you'll never keep.

And as the revelry fades to dawn,

One question lingers, etched and drawn:

Are you the phantom in the night,

or simply lost in borrowed light?
